Become a Chevening Sponsor in Mexico!

You may all attest to the outstanding opportunities that Chevening offers to the brightest young Mexicans who strive to further develop their career. As Chevening alumni you belong, indeed, to an unrivalled network of talent in Mexico, and the rest of the world. For that reason, we would like to invite you to help us to expand this unique programme by becoming a Chevening sponsor in Mexico!

On the one hand, we want to increase the number of Mexican students enrolled in British Universities. On the other, we are keen to send scholars that come from the widest range of backgrounds and states in Mexico.

We are delighted, therefore, to offer you who have first hand experience with the rewards of a Chevening scholarship the opportunity to support subsequent generation of scholars. In this way, you will contribute to build capacity in Mexico and to prepare your country for the challenges of the future! Moreover, this would be a great opportunity to establish lasting relationships with outstanding Mexicans at the early stages of their careers.

You can become a sponsor of the scholarship scheme, directly supporting the future study of young Mexicans in the UK.  We have a strong range of sponsors already, working closely with INE, Hacienda, Shell, BP and Unilever. But we are keen to expand this further. Alternatively, you could also support our Chevening Alumni outreach activities. Last year, for example, we had support from HSBC, Dewars and Sony Entertainment to host the Chevening Bond party.

At present we have more than 1,400 alumni in Mexico only. The members of this network have the opportunity to strengthen the value of their membership to Chevening by participating in the different types of events that we cater for them.

Last year we hosted the Chevening Bond Gala, seasonal cocktails, and a series of seminars with Tony Buzan and Sarah Evans on mind mapping and managing skills, respectively. We have drafted a very ambitious plan for 2009 which includes, for example, a seminar on creativity and innovation management (details to follow in our next Chevening Newsletter.) Any contribution that you would like to make to our networking events would be received with great satisfaction.

In sum, we are sure that your investment in Chevening scholarships and/or events will yield excellent results for you and for your organisation!

Please contact Mónica Jiménez, Chevening Alumni Manager, or Ricardo Curiel, Chevening Sponsorship Manager, at Chevening.Mexico@fco.gov.uk  to learn more about these opportunities.

We look forward to hearing from you!
