Other Chevening Events
In March 2009, Sarah Evans a British HR Specialist delivered a series of Leadership Modules including Effective Leadership, Effective team-building, Managing under-performance and the Role of the manager. This workshop highlighted the importance of effective leadership in the workplace by guiding participants through situational experiences. The training took place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Mexico City with around 40 Chevening, and some UK Embassy staff. Chevening found this workshop useful and gave very positive feedback on this training opportunity. On 24 June, the British Embassy in Mexico City held an informal breakfast for Chevening alumni now working in the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE). There was an interesting mix of Chevenings with specialities in security, regional affairs and the environment. It was a laid back event where topics of mutual interest were discussed, with a particular focus on Climate Change as an issue, given its importance to the current Mexican administration. There was a positive feel about the exchange and all the ex-Chevenings were looking forward to an interesting future for Mexican bilateral and multilateral relationships, with a particular focus on engaging emerging economies in the sustainable reduction of carbon emissions. On 8 of July, the British Embassy in Mexico City held an informal breakfast for Chevening alumni Fellows.
