UK-Mexico Sustainable Procurement Policy Exchange Videoconference.

On 30 June, the Embassy hosted a videoconference, to which Chevenings were invited.  The videoconference is one of the first steps we're taking to promote a Dialogue between the Mexico and the UK on Sustainable Development policy.

Under-secretary for Environmental Norms and Regulation, Sandra Herrera, was in the UK chairing this on behalf of the Mexicans; Neil Thornton, SCP Director at Defra was chairing on behalf of the UK.

It was a very interesting videoconference that covered issues such as sustainable products, timber procurement policy, transport, paper and construction/facilities management.  The Chevening who attended despite the early start (7.15am) found the areas of discussion very interesting and encouraging.
