London Summit Video Conference - On 17 June the Embassy ran a breakfast and video conference to give Chevening the opportunity to have an understanding of the UK approach to organising and planning the London Summit, which brought together leaders from the 20 key economies to address the current economic crisis. Chevenings discussed the London Summit outcomes, and had the opportunity to ask questions of our speaker, Sujeevan Sathesan. Sujeevan Sathesan was in charge of the London Summit Unit of the UK Foreign Ministry in London until April 2009, in this role he co-ordinated the invitation, oversaw the London Summit website and was deeply involved in the policy debates. The audience consisted of Chevening from financial, government and economy backgrounds. The Chevening audience provided a lively discussion and debate, asking probing questions and of course, there was a good opportunity to network at the end over a cup of coffee.
